What
are Lip Enhancement Injections?
Lip
enhancement is a procedure used to either define the natural lip
line or border and/or to plump up the pink part of your lips. There
are different substances (all natural and registered drugs) that
are used specifically to acheive a required result. A fibrous product
may be used for greater definition, whereas a jelly-like product
may be used to enhance the volume of the lips.
How
is the procedure performed?
Techniques
for lip enhancement injections are similar to those for cosmetic
injection therapy. A consultation prior to treatment (may be on
the same day) will allow the practitioner to review and discuss
with you the need for cosmetic injection or lip enhancement injections
and an appropriate treatment plan according to your particular needs
and budget.
You
may immediately proceed with a treatment if you desire. icy poles
and local anaesthetic injections will be used to numb the treatment
areas prior to injection to minimise discomfort.
What
results can I expect?
Post-treatment
results reveal less noticeable swelling and pinpricks than most
cosmetic injection treatments, so you may use this within a day
or two of a big event without the worry that someone may notice.
Certainly with a little make-up, you will feel able to return immediately
to work.
How
long does the procedure take?
As
with cosmetic injection treatments, most people can be treated in
a thirty minute appointment.
Is
there a need for repeat treatment?
Yes,
most people find that a 'top-up' treatment in the first month after
the first treatment may be necessary and follow-up treatments may
be appropriate every four to six months.
What
risks are involved with Lip Enhancement Injections?
Most
people would notice minimal swelling or pinprick marks for a short
time which can easily be covered with light makeup or cover-up.
Are
Lip Enhancement Injections suitable for me?
The
decision to go ahead with an aesthetic procedure is a very personal
one. The first step is a consultation with one of the qualified
members of staff at the Aesthetic Day Surgery. Whatever your reasons
you should frankly discuss your personal goals and expectations
with respect to the outcome of the procedure (both physical and
emotional). As with any aesthetic procedure you should always keep
in mind that the desired result is improvement not perfection.
