Jennifer Green

Dr.
Jennifer Green graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1989.
Following residency at the Royal North Shore Hospital and a year
as an orthopaedic registrar in Auckland, New Zealand, she commenced
the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) training programme
for Orthopaedic Surgery.
After
successfully sitting the Fellowship of the RACS examination. Dr.
Green travelled overseas to obtain further training in Hand and
Microsurgery. She spent twelve months from August 1997 to 1998 at
the Indiana Hand Centre, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. At this internationally
recognised centre of excellence, she worked with Professor James
Strickland, Drs. James Steichen, William Kleinman and Hill Hastings,
all of whom have been major contributors to the development of specialty
of hand surgery.
Following
her training in the USA, Dr. Green trained in Paris, France, for
six months with Professors Raoul Tubiana and Alain Gilbert before
returning to take up her appointment at St. George Hospital as the
Director of Hand Surgery Services.
Dr.
Green is a member of the Australian Hand Surgery Association and
the secretary of the NSW Hand Surgery Association. She is Senior
Lecturer of he University of NSW and is researching the genetic
origin of Dupuytren's Disease.
