FULL THICKNESS SKIN GRAFT CARE
• Always clean your hands before touching or caring for your wounds
• If there is excessive redness or irritation with your wound/s, or signs of infection, or if you develop afever above 37.5°, please telephone our rooms on the numbers above. If you are unable to contact usat the rooms, please telephone the after hours number instead
1. Grafted Area (from where the lesion has been removed)
• KEEP DRY
• Leave dressing(s) dry and intact until your review appointment. However, if the outer dressing (gauzeand tape) falls off, the remainder dressing underneath (foam rubber) should REMAIN.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THIS DRESSING.
2. Donor Area (usually in front or behind the ear)
• Leave dressing(s) dry and intact until first wound review
• If you have excessive bleeding, apply DIRECT PRESSURE FOR 10 MINUTES. If necessary, the dressing(s) may be replaced with a similar type. If bleeding persists, ring our rooms or your GP.
• If desired, MICROPORE TAPE may be applied directly over the sutures
• DO NOT shave or apply make-up over the sutures
• If there is excessive redness, irritation, or any signs of possible infection ring our rooms or your GP
• If required, pain medication may be taken (not Aspirin)
• If your wound is on your arm or leg, keep that limb elevated for the first 2 days, and whenever possible until the wound is completely healed

WOUND CARE
• The local anaesthetic will wear off in a few hours. After that you may need some Panadol

This is normally enough tostop any minor bleeding, however you may need to repeat this. If bleeding persists, please contact us
• If there is excessive redness or irritation with your wound/s, or signs of infection, or if you develop a feverabove 37.5°, please telephone our rooms on the numbers above. If you are unable to contact us at therooms, please telephone the after hours number instead
• If your wound is on your arm, leg or head keep the area elevated
• NO swimming and NO heavy exercise for at least 1 week
Please follow the instructions below as marked:
• Leave the Comfeel dressing dry for 2 days. After this time you may get the Comfeel dressing lightly wet. Patdry. Leave the Comfeel dressing on until you see Dr. Rastogi.
• Leave the wound dry for 24 hours. After this time you may get the wound lightly wet. Apply Vaseline 2 – 3times a day. Always clean off old Vaseline before reapplying.
• Leave dressing/s dry and intact until seen by Dr. Rastogi.
